Saving Starving Children from Across the World with Plexus
People from around the world suffer from hunger, even those who live in first-world countries. When it comes to some people, hunger is an issue that seems impossible to think about. Reality-wise, no matter where you live, there will always be families and children who are not sure when and where they can get their next meal. As the president of Plexus, Christopher Pair is well aware of the existence of world hunger. His real-life experience of childhood hunger is one of the reasons why he can relate to this issue strongly.
Growing up as a grandson of a Mexican immigrant and the son of a sharecropper, Christopher Pair has been through poverty and has escaped it once his father joined the army. Leaving the service, his father became a gardener to provide for the family. Most of the time, there was not enough food supply in their own house. Their food supply also only have little nutritional value. As a young boy, Christopher and his family had to look for other ways to pay for food such as recycling. In order for them to buy meals, they needed to trade soda cans with money.
To get a better life for himself and for his family based on those years of not being sure when they will eat their next meals, Christopher sought education and career opportunities. Adding emphasis to prosperity and good health, Christopher Pair came to the direct selling industry prepared to change lives for the better. He is currently Plexus’ President of Operations and International to the direct selling company that help people choose to live healthier lives.
For a long time, Christopher Pair has been in the industry to help other people make the most of their lives. He joined Plexus because of their goal to help other people overcome health challenges. The issue of world hunger is one of the things that Christopher Pair and Plexus is trying to overcome with their focus on health and nutrition.
In June 2018, Plexus partnered with Feeding America to feed people who are suffering from hunger. The partnership intends to make a positive and long-term impact on world hunger. The Nourish One Initiative by Plexus is meant to feed 14 meals to be given to Feeding America for each Plexus Lean product as a monetary donation. For five months, 4 million meals have been donated.
Mary’s Meals, another partner of Plexus with their Nourish One Initiative, is being tapped into with the goal of feeding more than 10 million meals to the hungry as set by Christopher Pair. Each day, 1.3 million must be fed by the international child hunger charity you call Mary’s Meals. For every purchase of Plexus Lean product that you make, a monetary donation will go to the charity. On January 12, alone, Plexus has donated $25,000 to Mary’s Meals.
With 17 of the world’s most impoverished countries, Mary’s Meals set up feeding programs at school with some community volunteer help. Instead of begging to get a meal, children are motivated to go to school for them to get a meal.
